Challenge for Gingersnaps Creations

I have just found a great challenge website called Gingersnap creations and this weeks challenge was to pick one of Ali's past projects and give it a twist of your own. I really liked her CAS Warhol style. This is my entry to the challenge.

I used a square punch and punched out 9 squares on white bazill. Then I used Tim Holtz distress inks and sponged it onto the bazill. Then stamped the image using black inkonto the 9 coloured squares.

I then cut out a rectangle and sponged with various distress inks. Stamped the eyes wording and some swirls around the edge. Then I arranged the images on the card. I used liquid glue for adhering so that I could tweak the squares into position. Thanks for looking xxx

Beautiful daughter

s
I loved this photo of Chiara looking so girly and as those of you who know her, know that she is such a tomboy. When I say to her 'you are beautiful' she gets all annoyed and says ' I don't want to be beautiful.' I did this LO last night at the crop. It came together so easily without having to do my usual over -thinking and analysing everything. Most supplies came from my Bad Girls Kit which is probably why is came together so easily - all the thinking had been done for me. Thanks for looking.

I don't want to be a princess

This is a photo of my daughter Chiara. I had been meaning to do a LO of this photo for ages. My older daughter is so girly but Chiara hates anything girly and when I put her in a dress she sulks and says 'I don't want to be a princess" hence the title. I love that she doesn't conform and has her own ideas.
I enjoyed creating this LO. I cut a pizza box and sprayed it with water and peeled away the top layer to reveal the ridges and then had great fun spraying with glimmer mist. I then rubbed gesso around the edges - let it dry and sprayed with more glimmer mist. These techniques were very kindly shown by the bad girl designers on NSD - thanks girls xxx.
I then cut out the pirate and cross bones strip and used 3D mounting tape to raise it for some dimension and placed it onto the other sheet of paper. I used some gem stones on the eyes of the skulls. For the title I used thickers and rubbed some white stickles over the letters for a bit of bling. I also used black stickles to outline the ribbon behind the skull as it looked so flat and outlined the skullcap with pink stickles. Lastly I rubbed various colours of stickles around the edge of the cardboard. TFL

My girls LO

First I gutted the paper and saved a butterfly which I then cut out and stuck in the right hand corner - I hot fixed some gems onto it.
I part cut the wings on the butterfly on the lower right hand corner of the paper.
I sprayed some lace with glimmer mist and sewed it into a flower then glued the prima flower onto it.
I stamped onto the photo and mat and then dotted some stickles onto it. I dabbed mountain rose around the eges.
Then I inked the acrylic swirl with alcohol inks and placed some flower stickers on.
I dabbed some thickers with white paint to take the brightness off them.

Mother's Day Card

I don't really make cards but attempted one for Mothers Day - I find card making really difficult. I dabbed alcohol inks onto cheap photo paper and then stamped on it using a Tim Holtz Stamp with Black Stazon. I then painted the grungeboard butterfly gold and ran it through the cuttlebug in the script embossing folder. I dabbed gold stickles over it. Then glued everything onto the card.

New LO

I did this LO for Shimelle's Scrap Like You Mean It challenge on UKS. I used white scalloped -edge cardstock and build up the pink and blue colours using paint dabbers and silver stickles. Used bubble wrap and white paint on the corner. Made the wings using acetate and SU heat and stick for the pink and stazon opaque for the white. I printed out the saying "Give them wings to soar above everything, explore new worlds and fly farther than we ever did. – Unknown" on an inkjet transparency. The picture was printed out on fabric paper and cut out , I brushed some pearl pigments onto her cheeks to make them a bit pink and shimmery. Then put some bling on - okay lots of bling. TFL xxx

Home diary for Catherine

Had a great afternoon making this homework diary for Catherine. It is based on Penny Bearcrofts design in Craft Stamper Feb 09. I used foil glue for the first time and didn't mess up - it was so easy to use. Catherine was delighted when I gave it to her for Valentine's day.

Second Layout from the crop

This is the second layout that I completed at the crop. Can't believe this is my dad. It's an amazing photo and one I knew I had to scrap at some point. When I received January's Bad Girls kit I decided that it would be perfect for this photo.

Triple embossing

I'm so loving triple embossing -very addictive - i made this embellisment from a square of chipboard. Ibuilt up 3 layers of black UTE and stamped into the last layer with a love word stamp. I brushed in bronze pearl piments then rubbed excess from surface with a baby wipe to let the black show up leaving the bronze in the imprint of the stamp. So easy and quick to do !!

Found my favourite ring

Yesterday I finished filling in an insurance claim form for a ring that I lost back in July 08. I thought it had perhaps been stolen from the house. We were clearing out the utility room to get it ready for tiling and Mondo said "Now I have a dilema do I wait til your birthday or do I give it to you now?" and produced the lost ring. I'm not a jewellery person but I really missed this ring. I will be more careful in future.

Latest Layout

Finished this layout today - it was the challenge on UKS Shimelle's Scrap Like You Mean it. I used triple UTE embossing - and sprinkled glitter and stamped into the last layer. I also used alochol inks and blonde moments pearl piments oh and not forgetting stickles!!

This is my first attempt as setting up a blog - don't know why I'll never have time to update it !!!

This will probably be a blog about my life so that my sisters in Oz can keep up- to- date and my scrapbooking.

Today Catherine and I went shopping at East Kilbride shopping centre and I thought it was Christmas all over again. It was packed. It so was uncomfortable - not enjoyable at all. Catherine had a voucher for £20 for her birthday and pocket money. She bought quite a few items in Debenhams. I bought FLAT yes I said FLAT shoes - nine west (my favourite as they are made for big American feet and I have big wide feet). They were reduced for £49 to £19. I also bought nice Nine West grey boots reduced from £139 to £49 bargain or what!!!

Catherine bought an outfit for the school disco - not on til February but you how excited Catherine gets about these events. I'll post a photo of her.
